FIELD: radio engineering; microwave antenna assemblies for polarization controlled in any sequence by ferrite phase shifters. SUBSTANCE: antenna element of phased antenna array distinguished by short switching time for controlling various kinds of polarization has phase shifter built integral with polarization switch and its basic members are two round-section ferrite rods with square-section rod pasted in-between. Mentioned pasted rods are metallized. Polarization switch has metallized square-section ferrite rod, control coil, and four magnetic circuits in the form of isosceles trapezium mounted on edges of ferrite rod. Control coil of polarization switch builds up quadrupole magnetization and has two reset and dial windings screened by magnetic circuits. Four choke slits of antenna ensure its fast response and reduce power requirement which is most important for on-board radar stations incorporating several thousands of components.
