FIELD: electrical engineering; commutating-pole machines. SUBSTANCE: device has armature winding, compensating winding, series field winding, and shunt inserted in series with armature circuit wherefrom signal is passed to armature current sensor and to comparator. Device is also provided with speed sensor. Signals picked off armature current sensor, speed sensor, and comparator are passed to control unit which generates instructions for pulse-width modulator connected to independent commutating winding. Control unit functions to continuously analyze present values of armature current and speed and to generate instruction signal for pulse-width modulator whose magnitude is sufficient to ensure full compensation of both transformer and reactive electromotive forces thereby affording adequate motor commutation in any mode of operation.
