SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the strain Streptococcus equi TW 928 deposited at number CBS 813.95 that induces acute disease of upper respiratory ways in horses, microbiologically pure culture comprising bacteria corresponding to the deposited strain Streptococcus equi TW 928, live vaccine for control of Streptococcus infection in horses that comprises bacteria of indicated strain. Invention relates also to method of vaccine preparing that involves mixing bacteria of the strain Streptococcus equi TW 928 and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The presented strain comprises deletion in its genome of size about 1 kb that provides rather insignificant reversion of strain to virulence, however, strain retains its capsule.
