FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: quick-cutting steel comprises following components used in the ratio of, wt%: carbon 0.95-1.2; manganese 0.4-0.5; silicon 0.3-0.6; sulfur 0.0015-0.025; phosphor 0.025-0.020; chromium 3.8-4.3; nickel 0.3-0.5; tungsten 17.0-18.0; vanadium 1.0-2.0; molybdenum 0.8-1.0; zirconium 1.9-2.0; nitrogen 2.1-2.2; iron the balance. Quick-cutting steel is free from alloying element-cobalt and is used for manufacture of metal cutting tools and hot deformation dies. EFFECT: increased operational strength by enhanced red hardness and reduced manufacture cost. 1 tbl, 1 ex
