PIPE ELEVATOR Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: oil-gas producing industry, particularly, devices for round-trip operations with pipes in well drilling and workover. SUBSTANCE: pipe elevator consists of body and side door hinged to body. Elevator has latch with flats and handle located at its ends. Body has through holes with recesses. Latch is located in side door for engagement of body holes with latch flats. Handle is fastened to latch by means of pins. Elevator is equipped with spring lock whose body is located on external surface of side door. Catch and end stop are located on handle internal surface. Design of locking mechanism is simple and convenient in operation. EFFECT: higher reliability of pipe elevator latching, excluded its spontaneous opening. 4 dwg
