FIELD: method for identifying plastic-card user. SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by device that has image reading model with light and sensor, external physical medium of fingerprint information in the form of plastic card, and data processing unit coupled with sensor in image reading module. Sensor responds to light passing both through person's finger and through plastic card, at least one of whose sides bearing visible image of at least one user's fingerprint; image reading module incorporates in addition plastic-card holder that tightly presses visible image of user's fingerprint to sensor designed for input of this fingerprint image from plastic card; light is designed to ensure uniform illumination of sensor with light passing through person's finger or plastic card. EFFECT: facilitated procedure and enhanced reliability of identifying plastic-card user. 2 cl, 4 dwg
