FIELD: methods of production of amorphous silica. SUBSTANCE: amorphous silica is produced from material in form of particles containing at least 50 mas.% of elementary silicon. Silicon- containing material is fed to combustion reactor which is heated by means of gas or oil burner. Amorphous silica is extracted after escape from combustion reactor. Part of material containing silica and consisting of particles is fed to combustion reactor in form of aqueous suspension. Device for realization of this method has reaction chamber with gas or oil burner at one end. Side wall of reactor has at least one hole for delivery of silicon in form of aqueous suspension. Reactor has outlet hole for amorphous silicon thus obtained and silicon entrapping unit. Combustion reactor has inlet hole for delivery of air, oxygen-enriched air or oxygen.
