FIELD: methods of production of alkylhalosilanes. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by reaction between elementary silicon and alkyl halide at elevated temperatures in the presence of catalyst based on copper, aluminum and optional promoters. Total content of aluminum in reactor is regulated by adding into reactor, separately from silicon and catalyst, aluminum in the form of metal aluminum or aluminum alloys or silicon alloy containing aluminum, or solid compound containing aluminum, or their mixtures in amount of 0.01 to 1.0 wt.% on the basis of aluminum-silicon weight ratio supplied to reactor.
