FIELD: metal working, possibly manufacture of parts such as bodies of revolution made of steels surfaced with hard-to-work materials, of hardened steels and alloys. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working cylindrical parts simultaneously by means of two honing discs with different grain size having diamond rings; shifting rotation axis of disc with small grain size relative to rotation axis of part by height determined depending upon diameter of disc with small grain size and upon width of its diamond ring; arranging rotation axis of large grain size disc lower than rotation axis of disc with small grain size; providing crossing of rotation axis of part and rotation axes of discs by right angle. Such arrangement of part and honing discs prevents crumbling out and chipping of discs due to increased working portion of diamond ring and trace value on part. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of honing. 6 dwg, 1 tbl
