FIELD: transport engineering; passive safety appliances. SUBSTANCE: proposed protection system has helmet 1 and fastening member fitted, respectively, on head and body of operator and/or passenger, and coupling device 3 movably connecting helmet 1 with fastening member 2. According to first design version, device 3 consists of damping member 6 whose axis of symmetry "α" is located in plane of symmetry "β" of helmet 1, and of first connecting member 7 and second connecting member 8 by means of which member 6is connected with helmet 1 and with fastening member in their rear areas 9 and 10, respectively. Fastening member 2 is made in form of jacket and is arranged in zone of lower area 11 of helmet 1 of form clearance L between member and lower edge 12 of helmet 1. According to second design version, device 3 consists of even number of damping members connected into pairs. Damping members of each pair are connected by first ends with rear part of helmet with symmetrical arrangement of places of connection relative to plane of symmetry of helmet, and by second ends are connected with fastening member with symmetrical arrangement of places of connection to each other relative to the same plane. According to third design version, device 3, being similar to that of second design version, consists of odd number of damping members, three minimum, one of which is connected in all cases with helmet and fastening member in rear areas, its axis of symmetry being arranged in plane of symmetry of helmet. Invention improved protection of head, vertical and upper thorax sectional of spinal column of operator and/or passenger of vehicle and increases range of movability of helmet put on head relative to fastening member put on body.
