POROUS GLASS-CRYSTAL MATERIAL WITH OPEN POROUS STRUCTURE (OPTIONS) AND METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2196119 C2

FIELD: novel materials. SUBSTANCE: porous material, which can be used as matrices for immobilizing radioactive waste, temperatureresistant filters, catalyst carriers, adsorbents, and ion-exchangers, is prepared as follows. Shared spheres 40 to 800 mcm in diameter with bulk density 0.25 g/cu. cm, softening temperature 1000 C, and liquid state temperature 1400 C are subjected to separation including or several following steps: sizing, density separation, magnetic separation, and separation of perforated spheres from nonperforated ones. Isolated fractions are molded and agglomerated by sintering with binder at temperature below softening temperature and higher than liquid state temperature. Resulting porous is characterized by apparent density 0.3-0.6 g/cu.cm, mechanical crush strength 1.2-3/5 MPa, and two pairs of open pores: through pores in shared sphere walls 0.1-30 mcm and intersphere hollows 20-100 mcm in size. EFFECT: enabled preparation of material with open porosity up to 90% form shared spheres isolated from fly ashes of energetic coals. 20 cl, 6 tbl, 10 ex
