FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of 2-methyl-5-[di-(trifluoromethyl)oxymethyl] furan eliciting disinfecting effect with respect to tuberculosis mycobacteria. Method involves interaction of 2-methylfuran with hexafluoropropylene oxide passed preliminary through catalyst comprising mixture of aluminium oxide and zeolite of grade NaA taken in the volume ratio = 10:1 at temperature from -5 to +25 C in the presence of 0.5-5 wt.% of tetrahydrofuran. Method allows to synthesize product exhibiting both fungicide and virucidal properties, disinfecting effect with respect to tuberculosis mycobacteria due to reduced amount of impurities and increase of basic substance up to 98.67-99.05% in simultaneous increase of process output up to 166.9-177.3 g/l x h.
