FIELD: polymerization processes. SUBSTANCE: polyacrylamide is prepared by polymerization of acrylamide in presence of redox initiator accompanied by treatment of aqueous monomer solution at temperature from minus 3 to minus 40 C for 1-36 h. The second option envisages cryogenic treatment of aqueous monomer solution at temperature from minus 70 to minus 196 C for 6 to 60 h, after which temperature is adjusted to minus 40 to minus 3 C. Invention allows synthesis of microgel fraction-free completely water-soluble polyacrylamide, which results in high purity of final product and in high values of molecular weight of polymer (> 1000 kDa).
