FIELD: organic chemistry, polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention describes a grafted copolymer of styrene and polyheteroarylene of the general formula (I) where R is (II) where n = 100-150. Indicated compound can be used as polymeric materials exhibiting high physical- mechanical and thermic properties, namely, strength limit for rupture is from 38 to 58 MPa, modulus elasticity of tension is from 0.98 x 103 to 2.4 x 103 MPa at relative elongation from 1.8% to 3.6%; vitrification point is from 95 C to 130 C. Polymer of the above indicated formula is synthesized by radically initiated polymerization of styrene in the presence of aromatic polyheteroarylene at graduate increase of temperature from 20 C to 100-120 C. Cyclohexylperoxydicarbonate and dinitrileazodiisobutyric acid are used as initiating agents. Polymers, for example, polyimide, polyamide and polyarylate containing card and hexafluoropropylidene groups soluble in styrene and other organic solvents (for example, in cyclohexanone, N-methylpyrrolidone) are used as polyheteroarylene. Structure of synthesized polymers is confirmed by data of elemental analysis, IR-spectroscopy and gel-sieving chromatography.
