FIELD: individual protecting-illuminating means designed for illumination of objects and protective luminous action in case of threat of attack. SUBSTANCE: device has case housing power supply unit, semiconductor laser diode and lens mounted for movement along optical axis. Device is fitted with cylindrical lens installed in body on optical axis of lens for turn through angle multiple of 90 degrees relative to initial position which is position in which main section of lens is aligned with plane perpendicular to smaller side of radiating butt of luminous body of laser diode and passing through center of its output window. Front focus of lens is set behind or in front of radiating butt of luminous body. Laser radiation is formed in the form of wide stripe, then it is transformed into narrow stripe by turn of cylindrical lens element and object is scanned by this stripe by reciprocation movement of device.
