FIELD: individual protecting- illuminating means designed for illumination of objects and protective luminous action in case of threat of attack. SUBSTANCE: device includes body housing power supply unit, semiconductor laser diode or laser module with slit diaphragm and lens mounted for movement along optical axis. Front aperture angle of lens is greater or equal to maximum angle of radiation divergence across output of laser radiator in plane perpendicular to larger side of radiating butt and passing through center of output window of radiator. Front focus of lens is located on optical axis behind or in front of radiating butt at distance established by expression specified in formula of invention. Laser beam has form of ellipsoid section or strip which major and minor axes are related as n:1 with n≥2. Detection of object and guidance of laser radiation on to his eyes are carried out simultaneously by object scanning with reciprocating motion of device.
