FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: the method deals with detecting the value of Gaussian energetic distribution in a bundle of laser radiation for exymerlaser photorefraction keratectomy. Before operation one should conduct total testing of a patient according to a generally assumed scheme. Based upon the data obtained, one should detect a value σ of Gaussian energetic distribution in a bundle of laser radiation altered according the law of mathematical dependence and calculated by the formula determining this dependence. Revealed mathematical dependence takes into account while detecting the value σ the impact of refracting corneal power value along its two main meridians and, correspondingly, its curvature radius upon this value. The innovation in question enables to provide the choice of an optimal value σ of Gaussian energetic distribution in a bundle of laser radiation. Application of narrower bundle at an abrupt cornea and a wider bundle in case of a flattened cornea enables to exclude unpredicted refraction and complicated flow of postoperational period while carrying out exymerlaser photorefraction keratectomy. EFFECT: higher efficiency of detection.
