SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmic surgery. The central area of the cornea is subjected to the effect of an excimer laser. Herewith, at the first stage, the corneal epithelium is removed on an area equal to the diameter of the ablation zone, followed by the ablation of the Bowman's membrane and corneal stroma with the same excimer laser with a diameter of the ablation zone 1.5 to 2.0 mm greater than the pupillary diameter under mesopic conditions, with an ablation depth not exceeding 80 mcm. The effect is provided in the central cornea with a spot diameter of 0.8 mm at a laser pulse power of 1.1 to 1.2 MJ with a pulse repetition frequency of 250 Hz.
EFFECT: higher result rate of the operation, lower risk of side complications.
