FIELD: concentration of minerals. SUBSTANCE: transporting surface is fully covered with starting product. Solid surface is formed in zone of measurement. Separation criterion-average content is determined for at least one mineral at each position of starting product in row of continuous discrete portions. Delivery of starting product is discontinued if its amount is insufficient for complete coverage of transporting surface. Device proposed for realization of this method includes bin with outlet gate and level sensor showing degree of its filling which are mounted above transporting surface, units for measurement of selecting separation indication and unit for separating the starting product into useful and waste products. Level sensor is connected with flow forming unit for forming preset area of flow with continuous surface in zone of measurement on transporting surface. Proposed method ensures high efficiency of sorting of various ores by radiometric procedures due to high accuracy of determination of average content of useful components by spectral and structural analysis, photoluminescence and photometry.
