FIELD: metal working, possibly honing small-diameter openings. SUBSTANCE: honing head includes body with slit and working layer secured to outer surface of body. Unclampable mandrel engages with body in place of securing working layer; the last has cutting members in the form of radial blocks of superhard material. Contact portion of slit is in the form of wedge-shaped groove. On working part of mandrel there is tetragonal wedge that engages with wedge-shaped groove. It allows to hone small-diameter openings at increased range of tuning head. EFFECT: increased useful life period of honing tool, reduced metal consumption. 3 dwg
