FIELD: displays; vehicle lights. SUBSTANCE: lighting unit has base 1, elongated body 2, both provided with guides 3,4 on their respective surfaces, diffuser 5 connected to body 2, printed- circuit board 6 carrying light-emitting diodes 7 and mounted in guides 3, 4 of base 1 and body 2, and contact section 8. Base 1 has lugs 9 around its sides which hold printed-circuit board so that end bosses 10 on lugs 8 are fitted in holes 11 of printed-circuit board 6. Body 2 has transverse partitions 12 on end of diffuser 5, their ends 13 facing base 1 being provided with depressions 14 receiving butt-end 15 of printed-circuit board 6 that mounts light-emitting diodes 7; each light-emitting diode 7 is placed in box 16 formed by partitions 12 and body 2.
