FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: gang saw has bed-plate, saw frame comprising upper and lower traverses, which are rigidly interconnected through longitudinal columns made in the form of rotors of linear asynchronous engines having stators rigidly fixed on bed-plate. Saws are placed between columns in parallel therewith. Ends of saws are fixed on traverses. Flexible members are positioned between one of traverses and bed-plate. Current pulses are supplied to stators of linear asynchronous engines for urging saw frame to oscillate in vertical plane and, accordingly, to enable sawing of timber. EFFECT: simplified construction, increased efficiency, stable and reliable operation. 1 dwg
