FIELD: methods of drying various equipment; power engineering industry, chemical, oil and gas refining industries and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method is based on preliminary evacuation followed by blowing of cavity kept under vacuum with outside atmospheric air introduced directly from surrounding space; atmospheric air is throttled at inlet and is dehumidified directly in cavity kept under vacuum which is effected through expansion; air is fed in the amount sufficient for stationary mode of vacuum blowing during period of time sufficient for obtaining residual humidity of preset magnitude. Device proposed for realization of this method includes evacuation system, pipe line for connecting the cavity to be dried where start and shut-off valve, pressure control unit and filtering unit are mounted; another start and shut-off valve is also fitted for forming the blowing passage communicating the cavity to be dried directly with surrounding space. Device is additionally provided with adjustable throttle valve mounted in blowing passage and residual humidity monitoring unit. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; reduced power requirements. 6 cl, 2 dwg
