FIELD: measurement of such photometric characteristics of materials as reflection, transmission, scattering and other factors. SUBSTANCE: procedure can be employed to measure characteristics of both optical and structural materials as well as such natural materials as soils, plants, etc. Characteristics are measured in various sections of spectrum of optical range of wavelengths. Pulse photometer uses filament lamp. Safe method of its connection, for instance, when current through filament lamp at any moment does not exceed maximum permissible value for given lamp, is selected. Such mode is ensured by microprocessor. Same device synchronizes moment of lamp switching on and moment of measurement of signals in photometer, that is, secures optimum measurement moment. EFFECT: prolonged service life of filament lamp, good spectral characteristics of pulse radiation source, obtainment of all advantages of pulse operation mode of photometer.
