FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrument-making and concerns a photometer with a ball illuminator. Photometer includes an illuminator, a lens system, a sample compartment, a photodetector and a computer system. Illuminator is in form of a photometric ball with a diffusely reflecting inner surface, in which there are through holes with built-in pulse LEDs having linear dimensions in range of 0.003-0.006 times diameter of photometric ball. Area of inner surface of ball and total area of holes of ball with installed radiation sources are in ratio: where: Sw is area of inner surface of photometric ball illuminator; So is area of holes on inner surface of photometric ball; ρ is coefficient of reflection of inner surface of photometric ball.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of measurement accuracy, reduction of sensitivity threshold, high stability and reproducibility of measurement results.
