FIELD: instrumentation, determination of type of polyphase flow in pipe-line in process of its operation. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with given procedure polyphase flow in pipe-line is sonic tested by means of ultrasonic oscillations. Signals passed through flow and echo signals reflected from lack of continuity of polyphase flow are received, their amplitudes and times of arrival are measured and used to determine character of polyphase flow. In this case family of converters is arranged over circumference of pipe-line in one plane of its section, amplitudes and times of passage of passed- through and reflected signals are received and recorded at same time, are converted to digital form more convenient for processing and compared with set of digital standards corresponding to various polyphase flows stored in flash storage of microprocessor module. Comparison results determine character o polyphase flow. EFFECT: increased accuracy and informativity of control over polyphase flow. 1 dwg
