FIELD: medicine, preparative biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of preparing gamma- globulin solution free of contaminating viruses designated for intravenous administration. Method involves stages of heat treatment at temperature from 50 C to 70 C for 10-100 h for inactivation of virus in the presence of stabilizing agent and fractionation of crude gamma-globulin solution with polyethylene glycol, treatment of gamma-globulin by ion-exchange resin followed by treatment of purified gamma-globulin with solvent-detergent for the further inactivation of viruses. Invention provides the development of combined multistage commercial process for preparing gamma-globulin that involves removal of denatured protein formed in heat sterilization. EFFECT: improved method of preparing, enhanced purity of preparation. 8 cl, 2 ex
