FIELD: plastic metal working, namely methods for making annular blanks of parts of gas turbine engines. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing initial measured-length rod heat insulated with layers of ceramic heat insulation material on plate of press (before upsetting rod) inside thermostatically controlled ring made of any carbon steel and heating said ring together with rod; using thermostatically controlled ring whose size corresponds to changed dimensions of deformed rod. At deformation of rod thermostatically controlled ring is not deformed that is why it is suitable for multiple use with periodical heating.
