FIELD: printing equipment. SUBSTANCE: roll used in first mode of operation has multiplicity of portions. When roll is used in second mode of operation, it has continuous working surface. Roll working surface is divided into portions by means of annular covering reversibly narrowing in diameter. Roll has actuating devices for acting upon covering in radial and axial directions. Such construction allows roll to be adjusted to various kinds of spaced printing plates arranged in side-by-side relationship without necessity of roll replacement. Also, accumulation of printing ink on roll in gap between plates is prevented. EFFECT: reduced faults in printing and improved printing quality. 24 cl, 20 dwg
