TECHNETIUM SOLUTION RECOVERY METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2199163 C2

FIELD: recovery of liquid radioactive wastes formed in regenerating irradiated nuclear fuel. SUBSTANCE: source nitric solution of technetium is neutralized to pH = 5-11 by means of carbonate solution and/or alkali solution at the same time thinning it to nitrate-ion concentration of 1.5 mole/l and lower. Then hydrazine solution is introduced until concentration of 0.001 to 0.05 mole/l is obtained by end of precipitation or iron solution (II) at mole ratio of Tc : Fe ≥ 1:7 by end of precipitation, and solution is settled down. Proposed method provides for reconditioning filters with respect to pH to make them suited for reuse. EFFECT: enlarged amount of technetium extracted from solution and extraction of transuranium elements. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 4 tbl, 3 ex
