FIELD: orthogonal data transmission. SUBSTANCE: orthogonal transmission can be organized by means of auxiliary pilot signals and Walsh channels for traffic in adjacent areas. Pilot signal is covered in compliance with IS-95 standard with Walsh zero sequence of 64 elementary signals. Walsh sequence of 64 elementary zero signals may be designated as P and that of 64 elementary one signals, as M. Novelty is that additional pilot signals may be obtained by concatenating sequences of 64 elementary zero signals P and one elementary signals M. In this way pilot-signal Walsh sequences PP and PM may be used for two pilot signals. For four pilot signals use may be made of pilot-signal Walsh sequences PPPP, PMPM, PPMM, and PMMP. This invention may be extended so that any desired number of pilot-signal Walsh sequences could be generated by replacing each bit in Walsh sequence out of K bits of sequences of 64 elementary zero signals P and elementary one signals M depending on value of this bit. EFFECT: provision for increasing number of orthogonal pilot-signal channels without reducing number of those available for traffic and control. 29 cl, 5 dwg
