FIELD: transport engineering; clutches. SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to combination control of vehicle drives. Point of contact of clutch is determined at idle run of engine with transmission in neutral and inertia brake. Drive mechanism regulator engages the clutch so that measured input speed of transmission corresponds to reference signal equal to 40-60% of idle speed. This predetermines degree of engagement at insignificant torque corresponding to brake torque. When input speed is within limits of preset value of speed reference signal, i.e. equal to 4%, point of contact corresponding to degree of engagement can be determined. Said degree can represent clutch position or pressure signal. Point of contact is set as difference between degree of engagement for insignificant torque and displacement of point of contact. Determination of point of contact can be started at completely engaged position of clutch with gradually decreasing contact in accordance with difference between input and reference speeds. When value of previously found point of contact is known, initial position of clutch is set somewhat higher than known point of contact and then gradual disengagement takes place. EFFECT: provision of reliable automatic engagement of clutch. 26 cl, 7 dwg
