Abstract RU 2199800 C2

FIELD: fuel-cell gas separators and their manufacture. SUBSTANCE: gas separator is manufactured as component part of fuel cell made in the form of multilayer pile of separate cells. Gas separator is produced by pressing metal plate in die. Shaping predetermined stiff sections on both surfaces of gas separator during pressing in die causes deformation of gas separator. This arises a number of problems. Novelty is that gas separator has bearing block produced by joining two bearing plates pressed in die to form stiff section on respective surface as plates are brought in contact; filler blocks formed in inner space provided between these two bearing plates corresponding to predetermined stiff sections of bearing plates; coating layer applied to bearing block surface. Deformations in gas separator of such configuration built up in bearing plates and during pressing to form stiff sections are relatively compensated for during joining these two bearing plates together. In this way deformation is avoided in finished gas separator. Electricity conducting material is disposed between two bearing plates and forms fillers which raise electric and heat conductivity of gas separator.
