METHOD OF SYNTHESIS OF ALK-4Z-EN-1-OLS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method of synthesis of alk- 4Z-en-1-ols of the general formula (1): where R means n-C₆H₁₃, n-C₈H₁₇, n-C₉H₁₉. Method involves interaction of terminal allenes of the general formula: where R means n-C₆H₁₃, n-C₈H₁₇, n-C₉H₁₉ with triethylaluminium taken in the mole ratio : AlEt₃ = 10 : (10-14), respectively, in the presence of zirconacene dichloride Cp₂ZrCl₂ as catalyst taken in the amount 2-6 mole % with respect to 1-substituted allene. Reaction is carried out in argon atmosphere, at the room temperature and under atmosphere pressure in methylene chloride medium as a solvent for 6-8 h followed by oxidation of reactive mass with dried oxygen and acid hydrolysis. Method ensures to synthesize alk-4Z-1-ols with high regio- and stereoselectivity that can be used in fine organic synthesis, production of paint and varnish materials, perfume substances, insect pheromones and biologically active substances.
