FIELD: organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: alk-4Z- enes of general formula , where R represents n-hexyl, n-octyl, or n-nonyl, are prepared by reaction of terminal allenes of general formula R-CH=C=CH2, where R represents n-hexyl, n-octyl, or n-nonyl, with triethylaluminum in presence of zirconacene dichloride as catalyst in amount 2-6% of the weight of allene in dichloromethane medium under argon atmosphere at normal pressure at ambient temperature. Process is conducted for 8-12 h at molar ratio of terminal allenes to triethylaluminum 10:(10-14), after which reaction mixture is subjected to acid hydrolysis. EFFECT: simplified procedure. 1 tbl
