FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: butyl rubber is manufactured by isobutylene/isoprene copolymerization in methyl chloride medium in presence of aluminum chloride added in methyl chloride solution. Process involves preparation of polymerization blend, degassing of rubber, drying of rubber, and processing of recycled products. Mooney viscosity of butyl rubber during the process is stabilized by varying concentration of catalyst in methyl chloride within a range of 0.015 to 0.125 wt % and value of solid residue of rubber dispersion is maintained on specified level by varying dosage of catalyst within a range of 0.015 to 0.035% of the weight of isobutylene. EFFECT: increased controllability of process and homogeneity of rubber and reduced expenses on power and raw material. 4 dwg, 9 ex
