FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bearing and supports of rotating shaft, particularly, for those used in pumps. Proposed hydrostatic bearing contains shaft, housing, carrying pockets, spraying connecting carrying pockets with source of working liquid, in outlet throttling channels and drain grooves. Outlet throttling channels are used to connect carrying pockets with drain space outside the bearing through drain grooves. Throttling channels are made at rear wall of carrying pocket in direction of shaft rotation in corners formed by rear and side walls of carrying pocket and are directed to side of rotation of shaft. Area or cross section of throttling channels is smaller than or equal to area of cross section of drain groove. EFFECT: increased service life of hydrostatic bearing operating in contaminated liquid medium. 7 cl, 10 dwg
