FIELD: multipurpose short-time test of wells in process of their drilling. SUBSTANCE: biogeochemical test is carried out at stage preceding to start of deep drilling in process of shallow well driving and/or deep well driving. Biogeochemical test is conducted in limits of test interval in wells prepared to biogeochemical analysis. Specimens are grouped by belonging to littoral types of rocks during biogeochemical test. Concentration of high-molecular compounds of organic origin is measured in each specimen. Average value of concentration of high-molecular compounds of organic origin is computed per each littoral type of rocks. Littoral type of rock with maximum value of average concentration of high-molecular organic compound is selected. Graph of change of value of concentration of high-molecular compounds of organic origin by depth is plotted for selected littoral type of rock. Presence of hydrocarbon deposit under tested well is determined by slope of graph and absence of hydrocarbon deposit under tested well is determined by stabilization of values of concentration of highmolecular compounds of organic origin and by approximation of graph to vertical straight line.
