FIELD: multipurpose proximate testing of holes in process of drilling at stages of development of oil resources. SUBSTANCE: biogeochemical testing is conducted simultaneously at stage of sinking of shallow holes and/or in process of deep drilling. Proper test interval free of man-induced and natural effects is selected in certain stratigraphic subdivisions depending on formulated problem of drilling. Specimens in which content of summary concentration of high- molecular compounds of protein origin, indicator of sorption activity, are selected. Opinion on presence of hydrocarbon deposit is formed by stable excess of values of root-mean-square deviation of summary concentration as compared with background one in corresponding stratigraphic subdivision and by other biogeochemical factors. EFFECT: reduced expenses, increased authenticity and reliability of technique under various degree of complexity of geological sections. 6 cl, 11 dwg
