FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flexible damping members and it can be used in any industry to decrease overloads of equipment exposed to intensive vibration and shocks in operation. Said vibration isolator is made in form of multi layer pack of tapes with radius and two straight-line sections on ends of pack in which precision holes are made for holders designed for fastening object to vibration isolator and fastening vibration isolator to base. Radius outline of multiple layer pack of tapes is made with wrapping angle β equal to β = 180°-2α, where angle α is chosen within the limits of 1 to 7o, depending on required level of compression loads in multiple layer pack. EFFECT: provision of stable compressive loads between layers of vibration isolator pack with radius sections of flexible damping member. 8 dwg
