FIELD: nuclear power engineering; pressurized water reactors. SUBSTANCE: nuclear steam-generating plant has pressurized water reactor, steam generators, main circulating pumps, main circulating pipelines, pressurizer, and cold-water tanks. Reactor in its turn has high-pressure vessel, cover, pipe connections of fission chain reaction system control actuators, large-diameter water inlet and outlet pipe connections of steam generator, small-diameter pipe connections joined to water tanks, metal cavity, shielding tubes bank, and core formed by fuel assemblies. Fuel assemblies include fuel rods with zirconium- alloy cans and uranium oxide pellets, as well as guide tubes for absorption rods joined together by means of arm disposed in shielding tubes of shielding tubes bank. The latter has header made by means of additional plate. Header communicates through pipelines with pipe connections in shell of guide tubes bank which are coaxial relative to holes in metal cavity, inner pipe connections of vessel, and pipe connections running to water tanks. Pressurizer is connected to one of pipelines running between water tanks and vessel or directly to vessel. Holes provided for passing cold water are made within this header in shielding tubes of shielding tubes bank. Shielding tubes and control-rod actuator arms are provided with additional shielding tubes carrying spring-loaded members on their upper end which are joined with pipe connections of absorbing-rod actuators. Spring-loaded members are provided with ball-type movable sealing parts. Shielding tubes of fuel assemblies are provided with perforation, half of them being mainly perforated at bottom part of core and remaining ones, mainly at its top part.
