FIELD: physics, atomic power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering and can be used in pressurised water reactors (PWR) and boiling water reactors (BWR). Disclosed is a structural design of a fuel assembly with fuel rods arranged with inclination to the vertical axis and forming conical and slit-type collectors to allow cross flow of the coolant. Coolant in a fuel assembly with cross flow boils primarily at the centre, thereby efficiently acting on reactivity, which facilitates spectral control of the reactivity margin.
EFFECT: enabling operation without coolant burn up in the periods between refuelling.
