FIELD: ac systems operating in regenerative braking mode. SUBSTANCE: method for controlling single-phase inverter is characterized in that, supply voltage amplitude, mean regeneration current, and commutating angle are measured during each half-cycle in order to generate enabling pulses for inverter gates during next half-cycle depending on commutating angle, and inductive reactance of commutation circuit is calculated. During next half-cycle commutating angle is calculated basing on values of regeneration current and supply voltage amplitude measured during preceding half-cycle. Found inductive reactance of commutation circuit makes it possible to correctly determine commutating angle and to realize smaller angles of inverter margin.
