FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention is design for use in ac electric vehicles at regenerative braking. Proposed method of equalizing loads of traction motors consists in the following: signal proportional to armature current of one of traction motors is subtracted from signal proportional to armature current of said traction motor and signal proportional to difference of said signals is introduced into regulator. Depending on value of said difference phase of valve control pulses shunting field winding of said traction motor is formed. Signal from which signal proportional to motor armature current is subtracted, is signal proportional to armature current of traction motor with maximum phase of control pulses of valve shunting motor field winding. This provides equalizing of loads of traction motors over entire measurement range at accuracy depending only on errors of current sensors and A/D converters.
