FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying programmed extrastimuli to the left atrium by means of transesophageal stimulation. The extrastimuli are applied in following growing adhesion interval beginning from the last sinusoid complex. Postextrasystolic pause is measured on the superficial electrocardiogram after each extrastimulus. Postextrasystolic pause duration increase in jumps of 150-180 ms is recorded. Extrastimuli adhesion interval corresponds to effective refraction period of the left atrium. EFFECT: high accuracy of noninvasive method. 1 dwg
