FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: N,N-dimethyl(3,5-di-t-butyl-4- hydroxybenzyl)amine, which is radical oxidation process inhibitor, appropriate for stabilizing polyolefins, synthetic rubbers, and fuels, is prepared by condensation of 2,6-di-t-butylphenol with aminomethylation agent in presence of aqueous formaldehyde solution in alcohol medium at elevated temperature, said aminomethylation agent being 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenol production waste containing, wt %: trimethylamine 0.1-0.5, dimethylamine 4.0-15.0, bisamine 15,0-25.0, water 0.5-10.0, and methanol - the balance. Condensation is carried out at 70-80 C. EFFECT: reduced price cost of product due to use of refused raw material. 1 tbl
