CUTTER FOR MINING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: cutter for mining machine includes cylindrical holder terminating in tail part with annular groove under retaining ring, working head fitted with hard-alloy core and flutes located in zone of joint of cylindrical part with cone head. Flutes are double plane flutes with mutually perpendicular planes. Main working surfaces of flutes are positioned at right angle with plane of axial section of cutter and are turned through angle of 10-45 degrees with reference to its axial line. Separable working head of cutter includes cylindrical part and truncated cone part terminating in cruciform nose and is joined to cylindrical holder of cutter with the use of pin made fast on one side to working head and on the other side to helical coupling with right trapezoidal thread and is fitted with four flutes which are truncated along plane perpendicular to axial line of cutter. EFFECT: reduced usage of metal by way of multiple use of cylindrical holder of cutter with separable working heads. 6 dwg
