FIELD: plastic metal working, namely working by means of spinning rollers without thinning wall of flat or cup-shaped blank. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of securing bottom blank along its perimeter to annular mandrel and imparting rotation to it; approaching to rotating blank spinning roller moving along radius of bottom convexity in radial direction; using initial blank in the form of cone with height equal to 1.1 -1.3 of bottom height; moving roller in plane shifted relative to bottom center by 1/8 - 1/4 of knurling roller diameter. Apparatus for spinning bottoms of flat round in plan view initial sheet blanks includes rotary table with mandrel for securing blank along perimeter and spinning roller mounted on traverse bar joined with drive unit for rocking it and mounted on frame with possibility of rotation along radius of bottom. Said roller is shifted relative to rotation center of table. Traverse bar is provided with mechanism for axial motion of spinning roller mounted on traverse bar with possibility of rotation relative to lengthwise axis of traverse bar and joined through leverage rotation mechanism with drive unit for rocking traverse bar and made of discs turned one relative to another. EFFECT: enhanced quality of articles due to elimination of thickness difference in the whole cross section of bottom, increased efficiency due to lowered number of units and operations. 5 cl, 13 dwg
