APPARATUS FOR CORRUGATING SHELLS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, namely apparatuses for making annular-corrugation shells at making corrugated flame tubes of hot water heaters. SUBSTANCE: apparatus is designed for turning and boring lathe including table with face chuck, two struts, beam, two electric motors of vertical leading screws, cross piece, two electric motors of horizontal leading screws, two rests. Split mandrel in the form of annular holders 30, 31 and changeable sections 16 is mounted in face chuck of lathe. Annular grooves and dents are provided on adjacent end surfaces of holders and sections 16 for forming centering lands 28, 29 when assembled. Corrugating roller is mounted in one rest of lathe. Other rest of lathe supports device 50 mounted coaxially with mandrel for preventing heat irradiation, embracing mandrel with gap and having two windows: for placing roller and heating member respectively. Mandrel is provided with centering-clamping members 42 and centering members 46 providing rotation of corrugated blank 57 and axial motion at reducing its length. Apparatus allows to make corrugations with height 50 mm and more on blanks of sheet steel with thickness 20 mm and more. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of universal turning and spinning equipment. 3 cl, 4 dwg
