FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of organic substances, for instance polymers and polymer compositions, in particular to processing wood, plant- growing products, organics-containing minerals as well as household sewage with organic constituents, method of invention being applicable for chemical and timber industries, petroleum processing, heat and power engineering, etc. Raw materials are heated in gaseous medium or in vacuum and processing is conducted in several steps near the border of existence of substance to be recovered in condensed state using high-speed heating at heating velocity 103-105 deg/s, which is different for each step, number of which being equal to number of products withdrawn from the process or it increases when there are temperature intervals wherein chemical reactions do not take place. In one of the steps at 200-375 C, system is dehydrated and temperature of the last step ranges from 550 to 750 C. Gaseous fractions obtained in each processing step are withdrawn and subjected to further condensation and processing, or are burned. EFFECT: enabled withdrawal of individual components in individual steps, enhanced process efficiency, extended resource of raw material, and reduced expenses by 30-40% without energetic losses. 6 cl, 4 ex
